I hope there's some difficulty adjustment in the final version too as this is quite a bit harder than I expected it to be, and the save system is old school RE where you have to find a tape reel to save, and they only give you one to start off with and I haven't found another one, and just died twice in the same area. Physical versions of Tormented Souls will be available on PlayStation 5, launching on August 27, 2021, as well as PlayStation 4 & Nintendo Switch with release date TBC.Haven't finished the demo yet but this is pretty well done despite the jank, though the combat could use some tweaking as its really easy to get blocked in by an enemy even when they're down but not fully dead, the enemy bodies have collision so this makes it more difficult to escape an area when you're low on ammo. While I did get very annoyed early on due to an enemy camping the save room door, it really does bring in that atmosphere that makes you anxious turning the corner or going.

A return to classic fixed perspective survival horrors, inspired by cult classics such as Resident Evil and Silent Hill Tormented Souls turned out to be a pretty great horror game, and this is coming from someone that doesn’t have the nostalgia for the classics this game is inspired from.
